Rufus Wainwright + Ala.Ni

Donald Gordon Theatre

Rufus Wainwright has established himself as one of the great vocalists and songwriters of his generation.

Hailing from folk royalty, Wainwright’s brand of theatrical pop has marked him as one of modern music’s most innovative talents. New York born and Montreal raised, he has released seven studio albums and collaborated with artists including David Byrne, Boy George, Joni Mitchell, Robbie Williams and producer Mark Ronson.

A superb showman with an incomparable voice, Wainwright returned to the Centre following his sell-out performance in 2007.

Supporting Rufus at Festival of Voice was London singer-songwriter and producer Ala.Ni. A graduate of the Sylvia Young Theatre School and former backing vocalist to the likes of Blur, Andrea Bocelli and Mary J. Blige, her timeless love songs are orchestrated with infinite delicacy and performed with the smoky touch of a jazz diva. Silky, melancholic and often compared to a contemporary Billie Holiday, Ala.Ni’s mesmerising vocal performances are truly unique. | @rufuswainwright | @alaniofficial
