A festival to celebrate the voice would not have been complete, especially here in Wales, without a Cymanfa Ganu. Supported by Tŷ Cerdd and curated by Caryl Parry Jones, the cherished and unique tradition of a hymn singing festival with a packed audience raising the roof in four part harmony was not to be missed.
This long standing Welsh musical institution brings people of all musical abilities together through instinctive, powerful and passionate four part harmony singing.
With items from World famous soprano, Rebecca Evans, renowned tenor Rhys Meirion and the beautiful close harmonies of a capella group The 4o5s, this was a night to remember.
The Cymanfa was in the safe and experienced hands of Rob Nicholls who conducted the audience on the night and the accompaniment was provided by the brilliant Huw Tregelles Williams on St David’s Hall’s magnificent pipe organ.
