Flavia Coelho: The Good Life Experience + Aleighcia Scott

New Venue for this Event: The Globe

A whole heap of Brazilian sunshine filled Cardiff when Flavia Coelho brought her carnival of eclectic sounds to Festival of Voice back in June 2016.

Taking the new Brazil to the world, Coelho draws on the traditions of samba, bossa nova and Brazilian melodies and there’s even room in the mix for ragga and hip-hop. She’s already played more than 200 concerts in support of her debut album Bossa Muffin, which has won widespread critical acclaim for its uplifting fusion of styles delivered with effortless charm and self-confidence.

Having been lauded by the likes of the Guardian for being “fresh, brassy and irreverent”, she joined Festival of Voice as part of her world tour in support of second album Mundo Meu, which looks set to cement her reputation as one of Brazil’s most colourful musical exports. She inspired the audience at a very sweaty Globe in Cardiff to get their groove on.

Aleighcia Scott is a young reggae and soul singer/song-writer from Cardiff and performed with RAS Band from Bristol. Aleighcia has opened the show for many great artists such as Tarrus Riley, Soul II Soul, Tippa Irie, Maxi Priest, Lady Leshurr and Professor Green as well as touring with the Soul Acoustic UK tour and the Real Deal Comedy Jam and is currently working on her debut EP. In December 2016 she will tour with Akil the MC from legendary Jurassic 5.
