Could you host an Opera in your home?

Could you host an Opera in your home?

Wales Millennium Centre’s Festival of Voice is on the hunt for a Cardiff home to host an intimate contemporary opera in 2018.

The opera is a commission for Festival of Voice 2018, Cardiff’s international arts festival, which takes place in June 2018 and the production will be collaboration with renowned Australian Contemporary Opera company, Lost and Found.

The team who organise the festival are looking for a large open plan house to host the show. The performance would take place in the downstairs space; primarily a Kitchen/Diner area and we would also need to seat 30-40 audience members.  We are looking for a large Kitchen/Diner opening up onto either a patio terrace or another large interior space.

Festival of Voice Cardiff happens between 7 – 17 June and dress rehearsals will need to take place in the home in the weeks leading up to the festival. There will be a fee paid to the homeowners and the house must have relatively easy access to public transport and parking.

If you think your kitchen and garden has the ‘wow’ factor, please email your interest, along with your address and photos of your house and garden to festivalofvoice@wmc.org.uk Please send your expression of interest through by Friday 15 September.

If you’d like to know more about Festival of Voice, please join the mailing list at www.festivalofvoice.wales as there will be lots of announcements being made over the coming months.
