With two Mercury-nominated albums to her name, Calvi’s atmospheric sound embraces the early influences of acts such as Captain Beefheart, The Rolling Stones and Maria Callas. Most recently, she released Strange Weather, an EP consisting of five covers produced by Thomas Bartlett (The National, Antony and the Johnsons, Sam Amidon) and recorded in New York.
Famed for her operatic songs, virtuoso guitar playing and theatrical stage this one-off, delighted audiences in the stunning surroundings of New Theatre.
