With Lenny Kaye and Tony Shanahan

Approx. Finish time 10:00pm

Patti Smith. Musician. Artist. Activist. Poet.

In the 70s, Patti became highly influential on the New York punk scene. An artist for over four decades, people are deeply spell-bound by Patti, and Festival of Voice is overjoyed to be inviting her to perform in Cardiff for the first time since she played at the city’s Coal Exchange in 2011.

In 1975, Patti’s first recording, Horses, was inducted into the National Recording Registry at the Library of Congress in 2010. 13 albums, 4 Grammy nominations, and a Golden Globe nominee for the song Mercy Is from the film Noah; these are just a few of this astonishing woman’s awards, nominations, honours and accolades.

Patti Smith continues to write, perform readings, work on artistic projects, and lends support for human rights issues.
