Tank and the Bangas
Approx. Finish time 11:00pm
Selling out shows all over Europe and the U.S with their flawless marriage of rap, spoken word and neo-soul, and winners of NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert in 2017, this colourful tribe of artists has a rare knack for combining various musical styles into one dazzling, cohesive whole.
Rummaging through their sound like a thrift store hippie, combining the various musical technique among the Bangas, coupled with the instilling play on lyrics from the lead vocalist Tarriona "Tank" Ball; Tank and The Bangas have quilted a unique sound that singles them as one of the most distinctive groups to come out of New Orleans.
Be prepared for a colourful, playful gig that will leave you full to the brim with happiness. They will simply blow you away.
Tank and the Bangas will be joined by French singer/songwriter YSEE. With an impressive list of collaborations to her bow YSEE has spent the last few years performing across the globe with legendary Nigerian drummer Tony Allen. Featured as part of the Africa Express project started by Damon Albarn (Blur) and most recently written 2 tracks which feature on Noel Gallagher ’s latest album.
Currently working on her solo LP, YSEE combines her love of pop, trip hop and electronic music influenced heavily by her time supporting an array of African artists. Her solo project showcases soaring vocals and a refreshing approach to songwriting.
