The Tiger Lillies
Nan Goldin’s The Ballad of Sexual Dependency is a deeply personal photographic narrative, formed out of the artist’s own experiences around Boston, New York and Berlin’s demi-monde, in the late 1970s, 1980s, and beyond.
The godfathers of alternative cabaret the Tiger Lillies, perform a live soundtrack for the Ballad, one continuous piece of music that evolves and underscores the beauty, pain, joy, tragedy and sorrow of relationships and startling images by Nan Goldin.
The forty-five slide show, including over 700 images and a sound track, functions like a film. The Ballad of Sexual Dependency, constantly re-edited and updated, began its public life on the club circuit in New York City and has since been shown at museums, galleries, film festivals, and alternative spaces the world over.

‘Just brilliant and utterly fantastic! You'll never hear more perverse and twisted as well as haunting and sorrowful songs’ - Marc Almond
